Profile

Following graduation from Dalhousie Law School in 2002, Alex articled at a major Halifax firm.

After moving west to join a Calgary firm in 2004, he carried on a civil and commercial litigation practice with a major focus on construction matters. In the construction area, his work includes advising developers on proper tendering procedures and project contract formation, representing contractors regarding Builders' Lien disputes, advising sureties on bond matters and advising consultants on proper role on the construction project. Mr. Kooiman has represented clients at all levels of Court in Nova Scotia and Alberta and has appeared before numerous administrative tribunals.

Alex joined DLBH LLP in 2011 as an associate and carries on a general litigation practice with a primary focus on construction and commercial disputes.
