Nikolaus Demiantschuk articled at a major Calgary law firm, before moving to a smaller firm in order to develop a solicitor’s practice. In 1986 he became a partner in Wedekind Demiantschuk & Larsen, the firm which later became DLBH LLP. Mr. Demiantschuk practices principally in the areas of financing (acting for numerous lenders), commercial real estate and real estate development and to a lesser extent in corporate and commercial law. He has, on numerous occasions, been a panel member for the Legal Education Society of Alberta and a lecturer for the Alberta Bar Admission Course. Mr. Demiantschuk has been on the Board of Directors of several Alberta companies and has held positions on several volunteer boards.

Nikolaus was born in England and has a working knowledge of the German language. He maintains business and social connections with Austria by serving as the Honorary Consul for the Republic of Austria in Alberta, a position he has held since 2001.
